Explore Nearby Nature, and the Books that Enrich Our Lives

Habitat Library’s mission is to help connect people to nature, land, and the places where we live and work. Our goal is to help create a caring community around the love of nature, and all the unexpected wonders to be found in the city and beyond.

HABITAT LIBRARY's 2025 Fall Book Clubs and More....

The Meadow by James Galvin
Author Jim Harrison has described James Galvin's The Meadow as an extraordinary mixture of novel and natural history. Set along the Colorado and Wyoming border, Marilynne Robinson had this to say about this Western classic: "The Meadow ponders the attentive quiet at the center of a Western life, the human side of a conversation with place. It is a beautiful book." WHEN: Sunday, September 14th, 10:30am to 12 noon. WHERE: Denver's City of Ulaanbaatar Park
The Light Eaters: 1st Washington Park Book Club pick!

This book shook and changed me...." WHEN: Sunday, September 21st, 10:30 am to 11:30am. WHERE: Washington Park

OPEN HOUSE for Habitat's Alamo Placita Pop-up
While Habitat Library searches for a space to house our books and programs, we have set up a small pop-up library at a kindly donated historic building in Denver's Alamo Placita neighborhood. Stay tuned for a special Open House, which will include a preview of next year's focus on Food Traditions across the globe. What's Next for the Habitat Library?

We're busy establishing the Habitat Library as a nonprofit organization, so until that time we won't be able to process donations. But until then, there are many other ways we can connect with each other! We'll always be looking for people and organizations that will help shape our programs, the library itself, and whatever the Habitat Library is destined to become. Please reach out with your thoughts and questions. OR, sign up for a Book Club or Field Trip (announcements coming soon). AND this will be especially helpful: be another set of eyes and ears looking for the future home for Habitat Library's books and programs. We're looking for the right place and right partners to help create a gathering place focused on books, learning, nature and the land. **jeff@habitatlibrary.co.site**
